Hi, as most of you know since you've come here, i'm Dave. I'm currently a student at the University of Akron majoring in Graphic Design and Photography, although at this point my future as a Photography major is questionable. I may become a Photography minor instead due to the costs. I was born January 5th, 1987 in Euclid, OH in a tiny house from where my family had built a house in Twinsburg, OH where I lived until I graduated High School. I've always had a fascination with technology and art as far as I can remember, from drawing when I was a little kid to disassembling my fathers Canon SLR when I was 5. I actually got a hold of my first camera what I was about 10, someone had to develop the film for me, but I was captivated by catching life as still as it could be. The flatness of the image also brought me to realize the way we view things; graphically. From then on doodling would only become more and more than just scribbles of lines and the next thing you know, i'm designing webpages from scratch at 12 years old and rendering my own graphics in programs such as Paint Shop Pro, and 3D Studio Max. From then even games weren't left alone, I would create car schemes which could be loaded on any players computer and viewed, detail is key in games like that, that's where I excelled in pleasing the many players wanting more and more different schemes to choose from. Even to this day involvement with games and the graphic elements aren't left alone. Beside the love for typography and photography lie my other hobbies which get equal attention. I'd like to spare this space to thank everyone who has helped me get this far so far in life. Thanks.
My views on graphic design and photography My inspiration toward the graphic arts field is quite simple. Typography has taken me over, everything people see, understand, follow is words these days. They evoke emotion, intuition, and anything else you can imagine. Creating a strong platform forwhich people can justify remembering is what I strive for in graphic design. Secondary elements are always important as well, they may help magnify the importance and give the viewer direction. As I continue my studies and implement them on this site and all the work i've done so far, I hope to exceed even my own expectations i've set for myself in graphic design. Photography on the other hand started from my interest in technology. I've always loved photography, days i'd sit in class across the photography labs in Folk hall just made me wish I was in there trying to make sense of what that person was trying to capture. To me this is the other side of the spectrum from graphic design, though I know they can both be used effecitvely together I see photography as a way of capturing the essence and vitality of the subject matter, as with my projects offer the sheer simplicity that the viewer understands, and sometimes even they won't understand. That's enjoy about photogaphy the different interpretations.
